Previous updates:
- November 14, 2024: The project has been awarded to CGL Contracting Ltd. Construction is scheduled begin in spring 2025.
- September 26, 2024: The project has been advertised for Request for Proposals (RFP)- construction services. The RFP will close on October 22, 2024, and awarded following review of the proposals.
- April 23, 2024: Project construction has been scheduled to begin in spring 2025.
The original BC Hydro powerlines design concept for this relocation has changed and is now significantly more complex. BC Hydro is doing their best to expedite the design to mitigate schedule delays but is still developing the final plans for this revised concept. Proposal for construction will be advertised in late summer/early fall.
The general project scope includes major grading at the intersection to accommodate the roundabout, left turn onto 20 Street, shallow/overhead utility restoration or relocation in 39 Avenue and PV Road, new curb, gutter, retaining walls, street lighting (including pedestrian crossing flashers), associated drainage, sanitary and water works. The project will be tendered once the property requirements have been finalized with the adjacent properties.
