The City of Vernon's economic development department is responsible for managing, coordinating and promoting economic development activities in the City of Vernon. The department can assist in making projects a reality.

Kevin started his career in Economic Development in 1998 and holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from Thompson Rivers University where he received a major in marketing. Kevin is a past Chair of the British Columbia Economic Development Association (BCEDA), the Chair of the Okanagan Valley Economic Development Society and has been on the Economic Development Association of Canada (EDAC) board of directors since 2011.

Kevin is a past recipient of the BC Economic Developer of the Year award and in 2015 received the Chairman’s award from the BC Economic Development Association for his significant contribution to the association, the profession and Economic Development throughout British Columbia.




Craig Broderick - Economic Development Planner

Craig brings over 20 years of planning and development experience to the role of Economic Development Planner for the City of Vernon.  Craig provides and coordinates planning services to serve the business community, manages various development applications and assists with policy development, while supporting economic development initiatives.

Building on his education, professional planning background and practical experience, Craig strives to create solutions that result in the best possible outcomes. Craig completed an Honours Bachelor Degree from the University of Waterloo, School of Urban and Regional Planning and has competed several other training courses in planning and management. He is knowledgeable in many aspects of planning and development, has taught courses related to subdivisions and planning and has served on the Council of the Planning Institute of British Columbia.

Craig is a Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia. While licensed as a Commercial Realtor, his knowledge and experience provided added value to projects and real estate transactions.
