Lake Access

Vernon residents have said they want better access to Okanagan Lake and it's happening! During the Parks Master Plan process, the public identified lake access as a high priority and here's the response. The Lake Access Plan is updated and is in draft form and eight (8) new access sites are slated for improvement in 2018.   Let us know what you think of the concept plans by visting engagevernon.ca

Have a look and tell us what you think. Do you like what you see, have we forgotten something, can we find a better response to the environment and wildlife concerns?

With more than 400 meters of new public waterfront access being improved, there will be more room for people to sun and play on the beach, launch a boat, slip a kayak into the water, walk a shoreline, appreciate the quiet water’s edge to watch deer sip cool lake water and a family of ducklings paddle in the reeds.

We will collect comments until November 6, then adjust the concept plans and start on final construction drawings.  If you have further questions or need some clarification, please contact Susan Abbott, Park Planner at sabbott@vernon.ca  or call the Community Services Building 250-550-3436.
