Step-by-step Guide

Getting started with MyCity requires a quick, one-time initial setup the first time you access the system.

Go to the MyCity web page
Select "Register for a MyCity profile"

The Profile Registration Page will appear
Fill in the fields required for registration.
Note: the phone number must be ten digits.Select a security question from the drop-down list and enter the answer to the question in the space below. You may be asked this question in the future if you need to reset your password or communicate with City of Vernon staff.

Once the information has been registered in our system, a confirmation screen will appear instructing you to verify your email address to complete the registration process.
Please note: If you close this page, you will need to restart this process again from step 1.

Retrieve your email confirmation from "NoReply@vernon.ca" with the subject: the City of Vernon - MyCity Profile Registration. Check your junk mail folder if the email does not appear in your inbox. To complete the registration, you must enter the verification code provided in the email on the profile registration page above and click the continue button.
Once you have successfully activated your profile, you will receive the following message:
Click the “Return to Login” button to log in to My City.

You will be directed to the MyCity login page. Enter your email address and the password that you set up during the registration process and login.

Once you are logged in, you will need to register your property tax and/or utility account(s).

Click the "Register Account" button to start the process.

To set up your property tax account, locate the "FOLIO NUMBER" and "ACCESS CODE" found just below the mailing address on your property tax notice.

Select the "Register a Tax Account" button.

Enter the full folio number (include the decimal . and numbers in the folio) and the access code provided from your notice.

A notation will appear on a new web page to indicate that the account has been successfully registered.

To view your Property Tax Account, once on the Accounts page click on the tax folio number (the line with the rectangle containing a dollar sign icon).
If you have multiple properties in Vernon, you may add more properties by repeating the process from steps 4(a).1-4(a).4.
- A new window with your property tax account details will appear. From here, you may view account balances, property assessments, property tax levies, transaction history and owners.

Click the "Register Account" button to start the process.

To set up your utility account, locate the "ACCT NUMBER" and "ACCESS CODE" found in the top right corner of your utility notice.

Select the "Register a Utility Account" button.

Enter the account number and access code from your invoice and choose whether you would like to sign up for eBilling or not.

You will be notified once the account has been successfully registered.

To view your Utility Account, on the Accounts page, click on the utility account number (the line with the tap icon).
If you have multiple utility accounts in Vernon, you may "Register" more properties by repeating step 4(b).1 - 4(b).4
- A new window will appear with your utility account details.

- Login to your MyCity account

Click on "Edit Accounts"

Click on the "Change Bill Delivery Method" icon

Select the Account to be updated & click on "Change Bill Delivery Method"

Select how you would like to receive account statements:
- Click the "Change Bill Delivery Method" button to update

Click “Register Account” button.

Select the “Register a Licensing Account” button.

Enter the account number and access code from the top right corner of your business licence invoice. Choose whether you would like to sign up for eBilling or not. Click “Register”

You will be notified once the account has been successfully registered.
- To view your business licence account, on the accounts page, click on the business licence account number that has been registered.
- A new window will appear with your business licence account details

- Login to your MyCity account

Click on “Edit Accounts”

Click on the “Change Bill Delivery Method” icon

Select the account to be updated and click on “Change Bill Delivery Method”

Select how you would like to receive account statements:
- Select the “Change Bill Delivery Method” button to update

Click the "Register Account" button.

Click the "Register a Permit/Folder" button.

Enter the Permit/Folder number (this number can be found on your receipt when paying for an application fee or you can contact a Counter Clerk at the Building Department.)
Enter your Access Code after you have provided it to the Building Department.
(Note: You create your Access Code and provide it to the Building Department. Once the Access Code has been entered on your account by the Building Department, you can enter your Access Code in MyCity.)Click the "Register" button.

You will be notified once the account has been successfully registered.

Click the “Home” button to view your permit account, on the Accounts page, click on the permit account number that has been registered.

To view your Permit Account, on the Accounts page, double click on the Permit/Folder number.
