Use the drop-down menus below for a step-by-step guide on how to sign up for a MyCity account.

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Setup My City Profile

Getting started with My City requires a quick, one-time initial setup the first time you access the system.

  1. Go to the My City web page
    • Select "Register for a MyCity profile"
  2. The Profile Registration Page will appear

    • ​​​Fill in the fields required for registration. Note: the phone number must be ten digits.

    • Select a security question from the drop-down list and enter the answer to the question in the space below. You may be asked this question in the future if you need to reset your password or communicate with City of Vernon staff.
  3. Once the information has been registered in our system, a confirmation screen will appear instructing you to check your email to complete the registration process.

Step 2: Login to your Personal Email Account

Retrieve your email confirmation from "NoReply@vernon.ca" with the subject: the City of Vernon - My City Profile Registration. Check your junk mail folder if the email does not appear in your inbox. To complete the registration, you must click the link "here" provided in the message to activate your user profile.

Step 3: Login to My City
  1. You will be directed to My City sign-in page. Enter your email address and password that you set up in the registration page and login. 
Step 4 (a): Register your Property Tax Account
  1. Once you are logged in, you will need to register your property tax or utility account(s). Click the "Register Account" button to start the process.
     
     
  2. To set up your property tax account. Locate your "FOLIO NUMBER" and "ACCESS CODE" on your tax notice just below your mailing address.

     
  3. Select "Register a Tax Account" as the Account Type.
  4. Enter your folio number as it appears on the notice with the decimal (.). Enter the access code provided on your notice.
  5. A notation will appear on the new webpage to indicate that the account has been successfully registered.

     
  6. To view your Property Tax Account, click on the Tax Folio number.

    If you have multiple properties in Vernon, you may add more properties by repeating the process from steps 4.1-4.4.
     

  7. A new window with your property tax account details will appear. From here, you may view account balances, property assessments, property tax levies, transaction history and owners.
     
Step 4 (b): Register your Utility Account
  1. To set up your utility account, locate your "ACCT NUMBER" and "ACCESS CODE" on your utility notice on the top right corner.
  2. Click the "Register Account" button to start the process.
      
  3. Select "Register a Utility Account" as the Account Type. 
  4. Enter the Account Number and Access Code as shown on your notice. You will be notified once the account has been successfully registered.

     
  5. To view your Utility Account, click on the Utility Account number.
     

    If you have multiple utility accounts in Vernon, you may "Register" more properties by repeating step 4(b).1 - 4(b).4
     

  6. A new window will appear with your utility account details. 
     
Step 4 (c): signing up for Utility eBilling
  1.  Login to your Mycity account
  2. Click on "Edit Accounts"
  3. Click on the "Change Bill Delivery Method" icon

     
  4. Select the Account to be updated & click on "Change Bill Delivery Method"
  5. Select how you would like to receive account statements:
  6. Click the "Change Bill Delivery Method" button to update
