The Protective Services team creates a better community through programs that support a sense of community, commonality and responsibility among our citizens. By ensuring that everyone feels that they are a part of the community we are able to improve the safe behaviours of citizens and provide assistance to law enforcement. The department also works closely with local social agencies to ensure that all citizens have access to shelter and security, which promotes positive community feeling and reduces crime.
RCMP volunteers provide public safety programs such as Speed Watch, Cell Watch and Citizens on Patrol.
Citizens are invited to participate in crime prevention at home through Block Watch, Business Watch and other programs assisting the RCMP in deterring crime.
