Pre-Application Meetings
Before preparing detailed development or subdivision plans, contact Current Planning to discuss your proposal and application requirements. Pre-Application Meetings are encouraged for more complex proposals but are not mandatory.
Email planning@vernon.ca with:
• Property address(es)
• Description of your proposal
• Preliminary plans or drawings
Staff will determine whether a meeting is required or whether your questions can be addressed as a planning inquiry.
A $250 fee applies when participation from other City departments is requested or required. No fee applies to meetings involving only Current Planning. Where applicable, the fee must be paid before the meeting.

When you are ready to apply, complete the Development Application Form and email it with the required supporting documents to planning@vernon.ca.

Types of Development Applications
There are various types of property development applications, and they all have unique requirements.
Important: To avoid delays, please submit a complete application package. Refer to the Development Application Form for the required supporting documents. Incomplete applications will be placed on hold until all required information is received.
