Tree Voucher Program

We can take action to help our community become more resilient and better able to adapt to major events and climate change.

The City of Vernon is continuously working to promote a healthy, enjoyable and safe community by encouraging residents to plant trees. Trees can help offer energy cost savings by providing shade, reducing sound and dust pollution to your property, and reducing the impacts of stormwater on flood events - all while enhancing the value of your property.

As part of the Tree Program, Vernon residents can receive a $75 voucher toward the purchase of a tree(s) at Nicholas Alexander Home & GardenSwan Lake Market & Garden, or The Flower Spot to plant on your own property. Vouchers are limited to City of Vernon residents, and one per property.

Tree Vouchers will be available starting on Earth Day (April 22nd, 2025). Please pick up your voucher from the Community Services Building (3001 - 32 Ave), while supplies last.

To learn more about the program, please refer to the Tree Voucher Program Information Bulletin or the Frequently Asked Questions section below. To learn more about how to select and care for trees, please refer to the Tree Care Information Bulletin or reach out to your local garden centre.
