Parks and Recreation contribute daily to the quality of life of the community and the personal well-being of citizens of all ages. Active Living is an integral part of a child’s development, adult’s wellbeing and older adults continued ability to enjoy their lifestyle. Supporting active living, healthy lifestyles and social cohesion, and the development of new skills, contributing to our vibrant and healthy community and protecting parks for future generations are among our key priorities.
Our parks are designed and maintained to create a positive experience whether for organized groups or casual activity. Enjoying some exercise with a canine companion in a off-leash dog area, participating in a tournament or hiking along our many trails are the kinds of experiences that create a sense of personal connection to our community.
Like the outdoor facilities, the City’s recreation centres encourage active participation for all ages and ability levels in friendly, welcoming environments. Whether interests are in fitness, yoga, arts and crafts, dance, swimming, skating, day camps and more, there is always something new to learn or a new friend to meet through Greater Vernon Recreation.
Through recreation we improve quality of life!
