The City of Vernon offers two grant programs to support the community in taking action around environmental sustainability and climate change.
GoByBike Community Partner Program
The GoByBike Community Partner Program provides small grants (e.g., $250, $500) to Vernon organizations, community groups, and for-profit businesses to organize and host celebration events during GoByBike Week.
GoByBike Week is a fantastic opportunity to engage with the community, support environmental initiatives, and encourage healthier lifestyles.
As a Community Partner, you can host events, offer incentives for riders, create a group bike ride, or organize a bike clinic during the spring 2025 GoByBike Week (May 31-June 6).
Applications are being accepted from March 3rd to March 31st, 2025. See below for application details.
Sustainability Grant Program
Sustainability Grants (up to $2000) are available to Vernon residents and organizations who want to develop community engagement initiatives that address climate change and environmentally sustainability in our community. For-profit businesses are not eligible for the Sustainability Grant Program.
The scope of acceptable projects is broad and creative initiatives from all disciplines are welcome. Successful projects will address climate change and environmental sustainability in the Vernon area and preference may be given to projects that engage the broader community to maximize impacts. For project ideas, check out Vernon's Climate Action Plan
The Sustainability Grant program will be open for application in the spring of 2025. The specific application dates have not been confirmed, but applications will be accepted sometime in April or May. Please check this webpage in early April to confirm the spring intake period.
