• Volunteer Opportunities

  Leaders in Training (LIT) Program – An opportunity for youth between 12 and 16 years to get involved through placements in our afterschool programs. Volunteers receive valuable career training and experience in the field of recreation. Become a leader and mentor for kids in our community!

  Fitness - Volunteers assist with fitness gym safety monitoring and equipment tidy up.
  General Recreation - Volunteers assist with art, basketball, hockey, soccer, skating programs and so much more. If you have an interest or passion we will work with you to find a suitable placement.

  Special Events - Volunteers are an integral part of our special events. From special event nights, celebrations to swim with Santa. If you love special events, get connected.

  To apply to be a volunteer please fill in the Volunteer Application form or LIT form and return it to the Vernon Recreation Centre, and we will contact you for follow up.

• Program Ideas

  Do you have an idea for a NEW program, send us a proposal package. Start by developing a clear vision for your program, including a title, program objectives, description, and requirements for space and equipment. When your ready with your Program Proposal Form, submit it along with your resume and any relevant certificates to the Recreation Programs department and the Vernon Recreation Centre.
