- All events require insurance.
- Insurance can be purchased through an insurance company of your choice OR the Recreation Events Coordinator can provide a link to an insurance provider.
- Please do not purchase insurance until a contract has been issued by a City of Vernon employee (Insurance is non-refundable).
- A copy of the certificate of insurance must be emailed to events@vernon.ca, a minimum 14 days prior to the event.
Indoor and Outdoor Events within the City of Vernon - the event organizer must provide $2 million dollars in comprehensive general liability insurance listing the City of Vernon (address listed below) as additional insured. The City of Vernon reserves the right to require $5 million dollars in general liability insurance, depending on the scale of the event. It is the responsibility of the event organizer to ensure that all vendors carry appropriate insurance.
Outdoor Events at parks and facilities that are at other surrounding locations but bookings that are managed by the City of Vernon - the event organizer must provide $2 million dollars in comprehensive general liability insurance listing the City of Vernon, District of Coldstream and Regional District of the North Okanagan as additional insured. The City of Vernon reserves the right to require $5 million dollars in general liability insurance, depending on the scale of the event. It is the responsibility of the event organizer to ensure that all vendors carry appropriate insurance.
If renting space at Greater Vernon Athletic Park (GVAP): four entities including The City of Vernon, The Regional District of North Okanagan, The District of Coldstream, and the Okanagan College must be listed as additional insured.
