Vernon is located between three lakes: Okanagan, Kalamalka, and Swan, and has five provincial parks on its doorstep. The region has strong farming roots, diverse recreational offerings, growing urban sophistication and year-round outdoor tourism activities. The area hosts five golf courses, all in close proximity. Silver Star Mountain Resort is also nearby. There is a diverse range of sporting events, festivals, galleries, museums, and tourism venues.

The City of Vernon is the largest city in British Columbia’s North Okanagan Regional District and provides all the major amenities. The City of Vernon has 26 accommodation properties providing approximately 1,400 rooms. In 2019, room revenues in the City of Vernon reached $36.7 million, up drastically from $17.4 million in 2011. This highlights a continued growth in the City’s room revenue over the past decade.
