2026 City of Vernon Infrastructure Open House

Join us to learn how the City is improving the places we live, work, and play.


This year, the City of Vernon is investing over $25 million into 24 infrastructure projects. These projects continue to strategically renew Vernon's infrastructure and incorporates planned investments to support the continued growth of the community. 

The Infrastructure Open House is your chance to learn all about these projects. Stop by, review project information, and chat directly with City staff about planned improvements in your area and across Vernon. Staff will be available to answer questions, share timelines, and discuss what you can expect as projects move forward.

This is a drop-in event, so feel free to attend at any time during the open house hours. Informational displays will be available, and City representatives will be on hand throughout the evening to answer questions and provide support.

Highlights of the 2026 Infrastructure Program

The projects contained in the 2026 Infrastructure Program are consistent with the Five-Year Infrastructure Plan and guided by the City's Asset Management Plan for its various asset classes. Highlights include:

  • Corridor improvements on 43rd Avenue including a new multi-use pathway on 43rd Avenue and a new roundabout at the Alexis Park Drive and Old Kamloops Road intersection as well as sanitary and storm infrastructure replacement
  • Infrastructure improvements on Kalamalka Lake Road from 14th Avenue to Highway 6 and a new active transportation route along Highway 6 and for a portion of Pottery Road
  • Building facility renewal of major building components at Kal Tire Place and the Operations building
  • Renewal of the BX Creek Culvert at 39th Avenue
  • Park infrastructure renewal of the fields and lighting system at DND
  • Extension of sanitary sewer collector pipes to a portion of the remaining unserviced areas in the Okanagan Landing; and,
  • A phased addition of columbariums within a serene and landscaped setting at the cemetery.
