As part of a two-year pilot program, the City of Vernon has launched the Clean Team to help maintain and enhance the downtown area. Their focus is on keeping public spaces clean and well-maintained.
The Clean Team will work alongside residents and businesses to handle cleanliness issues within the Business Improvement Area, ensuring a welcoming environment for everyone.
Operating from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays, the team consists of two City staff members. They are equipped with a truck and trailer, water tank and a pressure washer. Their work includes graffiti and sticker removal, litter pickup, sidewalk and curb sweeping, cleaning bus stops, and maintenance of street furniture.
