The City of Vernon is gearing up to improve local travel with the launch of its 2025 Road Rehabilitation Program.

This year, the City of Vernon will invest $1.1 million to improve approximately 5.8 lane kilometres of roads as part of its annual Road Rehabilitation Program. Paving work is anticipated to begin the week of August 18 and continue through September.

Typically paving will occur from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the exception of scheduled night work from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

The 2025 Road Rehabilitation projects include:

  • Downtown Lane South of 29 Ave – complete!
  • Sarsons Rd: Middleton Way to City Border - complete!
  • August 18 & 19: 9845 to 9900 Eastside Road
  • September 8 & 9 (night work): 25th Avenue from 34th Street to 35th Street
  • September 22 & 23: Eastside Road from Okanagan Landing Road/Eastside Road to Kokanee Road

Please note the schedule is subject to change based on the contractor’s timeline, weather and other factors.

Investing in the maintenance of Vernon’s road network is essential for managing long-term costs and extending the lifespan of roads. The network is inspected annually, with roads prioritized for repair, often involving milling and asphalt resurfacing.

The City schedules and coordinates road work to reduce the impact on neighbouring residents, commuters and visitors whenever possible. Depending on the location, motorists can expect minor delays and single-lane alternating traffic patterns to be in place.

We appreciate the patience of motorists, residents and businesses during road rehabilitation work. To learn more about how we’re investing in roads visit vernon.ca/roadrehab
