Road Rehabilitation

Vernon’s road network is inspected annually, and asphalt repair projects are prioritized based on factors such as pavement condition, safety, drainage issues, and coordination with other ongoing projects.

Rehabilitation work typically includes removing and replacing the top layer of asphalt. Before paving, crews might also repair curbs, gutters, and sidewalks.

We know road work can be a bit inconvenient, but it’s an important step to keep our roads in good shape and avoid bigger repairs down the road.

City staff plan and coordinate projects to keep disruptions to a minimum for nearby residents, drivers, and visitors. Most of this work happens in the spring and summer when warm, dry weather is ideal for paving. We also work closely with emergency services to ensure roads remain accessible when needed.
