The City of Vernon Council, management and staff are very excited to congratulate Kevin Hill on his first gold medal in Snowboard Cross at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado.
“A lifelong dream for Kevin has been realized today and we celebrate his accomplishment with him,” said Mayor Akbal Mund. “Vernon continues to produce local athletes who are attaining the highest standards in the sports world. We would also like to thank the coaches, trainers and parents that help these athletes succeed.”
Mayor Mund added that he hopes that Vernon residents will turn out to show their pride at a celebration being planned for Hill on Sunday evening at Monashee’s Bar & Grille.
