September will be a busy time in Vernon at ANAVETS Unit #5.
The Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada is the oldest organization of its kind in Canada, and we are pleased to inform you that the 57th bi-annual Convention of the ANAVETS will be held September 19-23, 2026 at the Prestige Vernon Lodge.
This year we are expecting Delegates from Units all over Canada with special guests from the American Legion and Anavicus and representatives from Canadian Government, Provincial Government, local leaders, and dignitaries. The last convention was held in 2024 in Sherbrooke, Que. with over 150 delegates.
On Sunday, September 20th the Wreath laying and memorial service will be held at Vernon's Cenotaph on 30th Street with all delegates present marching and we are hoping for some coverage from you for this event.
