The City of Vernon invites all local residents and businesses to have their say in the municipal budget process, as it prepares for the 2022 Budget. Input from citizens helps Mayor and Council understand the public's priorities for City services and helps better inform Council's financial decisions.
The annual operating and capital budget is part of the City's five-year financial plan to maintain and improve municipal services and support Council’s Strategic Plan.
As part of the public consultation process, a survey is available online at engagevernon.ca. The survey asks whether various services are currently meeting public expectation. If an area is not meeting expectation, it asks for feedback on ways the service may be improved.
The 2022 Budget survey includes videos, links and background information on the different services to help guide participants through the process. The survey is available until June 30. Results from the survey will be reviewed and a report will be prepared for Council to consider.
The budget survey is just the first step in developing Vernon’s 2022 Budget and the next Five-Year Financial Plan. Additional public participation will be available during Council’s budget deliberations. Information about that opportunity will be provided as we get closer to November.
