The City of Vernon is encouraging residents, community organizations, and non-profit groups to explore grant opportunities available this fall that support community events, local initiatives, and environmental sustainability projects.
Applications for several City grant programs will open in October through the City's online grant portal, providing funding opportunities for projects that strengthen community connections, enhance quality of life, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Community Event Grant
Looking to bring people together through a community event? The Community Event Grant helps non-commercial organizations deliver events that benefit Vernon residents, including community celebrations, recreation and sport activities, arts and cultural programming, and fundraising events for local non-profit groups.

Council Discretionary Grant
Council Discretionary Grants support non-profit organizations and registered societies whose programs, services, and initiatives contribute to the quality of life of Vernon residents.
During the most recent intake, Council approved funding for projects supporting youth programming, food security, accessibility, arts and culture, recreation, and public safety.

Sustainability Grant
Have an idea that supports climate action or environmental sustainability in our community? Sustainability Grants help fund community engagement initiatives that address climate change and environmental sustainability in the Vernon area.
Open to Vernon residents and organizations, the program encourages creative projects that advance environmental sustainability while engaging and educating the broader community.
