The Bradley Creek wildfire is currently classified as Being Held, marking encouraging progress in the ongoing wildfire response in the North Okanagan.
The City of Vernon Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) remains active, coordinating closely with the BC Wildfire Service and regional emergency response partners while supporting residents and neighbouring communities affected by wildfire activity.
While conditions have improved in some areas, residents are reminded that wildfire risk remains elevated across the region and conditions can change quickly. The public is encouraged to remain vigilant, follow information from official sources, and report any wildfire within Vernon by calling 911.
Emergency supports remain available in Vernon
The City’s Emergency Support Services (ESS) Reception Centre at Kal Tire Place remains available to assist residents impacted by the wildfire. Group lodging is in place at the curling rink in the Vernon Recreation Centre for those who require temporary shelter. The skate park at the Vernon Curling Club is now closed for the season to accommodate group lodging.
Evacuees can access ESS support:

- By phone through the BC Evacuee Helpline at 1-800-387-4258
- Online through the ESS self-registration portal
Evacuees can also access the Vernon Recreation Centre pool and drop-in programs free of charge by presenting their ESS referral number at Guest Services. Details on hours and schedules can be found at vernon.ca/rec.
Vernon Fire Rescue monitors local conditions
While the Bradley Creek wildfire is showing positive progress, Vernon Fire Rescue Services continue to monitor local conditions and respond to fire-related incidents within the community.
Yesterday, crews responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of Sunset Boulevard and remain on scene extinguishing hot spots. There are currently no interface wildfire concerns associated with the incident.
Earlier today, firefighters also responded to a grass fire in Becker Park. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished, and crews completed mop-up operations to prevent rekindling.
Residents are reminded to report any signs of fire or smoke by calling 911. The City will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed.
