Residents are advised of temporary closures and increased traffic activity in the Kin Beach and Marshall Fields area over the coming days as Vernon welcomes the 5K Foam Fest this weekend.
The Dog Park at Marshall Fields and the Lakers Disc Golf Course will be closed on Saturday, June 13, to accommodate the event. Both locations are expected to reopen on Sunday, June 14.
In addition, higher traffic volumes are expected along Lakeshore Road from June 10 through June 14 as crews complete event setup and takedown. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow for extra travel time, and use caution when travelling in the area.
In alignment with Stage 3 water restrictions, event organizers have reduced water consumption by 50 per cent to help ensure the event can proceed responsibly while supporting community-wide conservation efforts.
