Parks Infrastructure Renewal (Sawicki Playground)

The City of Vernon is initiating a playground renewal project at Sawicki Park, located at 996 Middleton Way. This high-priority initiative aims to upgrade and replace the existing playground facilities. Guided by the Parks Master Plan and the Parks Asset Management Plan, the project will enhance the park’s play structures to enrich community enjoyment of the park. Funding is provided by the Growing Communities Fund. Construction will begin on April 24, 2026 and be completed by May 16, 2026. The playground area will be closed during construction, while the rest of Sawicki Park stays open to the public.
