Due to a recent incident that almost resulted in tragedy, Vernon Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) wishes to remind the general public that the storage of flammable or combustible materials in metal sea can storage containers is not allowed unless the containers have been properly ventilated and placarded. Failure to abide by this warning could result in a catastrophic explosion if the container is exposed to an excessive amount of heat.
