Cyclists and pedestrians using the Polson Park boardwalk will want to give themselves a little extra travel time, as intermittent closures will be required to keep everyone safe during a construction project in the area.
Between July 20 and September 26, 2020, crews will be completing the next phase of the 15th Avenue Storm Rehabilitation Project between Highway 97 and Vernon Creek.
Work in this phase of the project includes replacement of approximately 130 metres of storm drainage pipe from the end of 15th Avenue to Vernon Creek, and a new outfall structure in Vernon Creek at the south side of Polson Park.
Intermittent closures of the Polson Park boardwalk will allow equipment operators to work safely in the area. Closures could last up to 20 minutes. Pedestrians and cyclists using the boardwalk should allow extra time to pass safely, or plan to use an alternative route.
The City appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding, and reminds users of the roadways to obey traffic control signs and slow down in work zones.
