The City of Vernon and members of CUPE Local 626 have ratified a five year collective agreement for the period of January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2023.

“Council would like to express appreciation for the hard work of both negotiating teams in concluding bargaining and in reaching this reasoned five year collective agreement,” said Mayor Victor Cumming. “Council values the outstanding work that our employees contribute to the success of our community and look forward to continued positive working relationships.”

The terms of the agreement will see incremental wage increases of 2% per year over the term of the five-year agreement. Additionally, the agreement contains small adjustments and several housekeeping changes throughout.
