Conditions for Kitchen Rentals: 

  1. A $500 damage deposit is required at least 24 hours before your rental. Please pay the damage deposit by credit card at the Rec Centre front desk. It will be refunded after the rental if there is no damage reported.
  2. You must complete a checklist with the custodian at the start and end of your rental. Call 250-309-4160 before leaving for the final inspection. Please ensure checklist is complete, as additional cleaning fees may apply.
  3. Kitchen insurance is required for food safe handling and liability. Please contact your insurance broker to obtain kitchen insurance. The event policy.ca does not cover the kitchen liability. City of Vernon is to be named as an additional insured on the insurance policy. Please submit kitchen COI to bookings@vernon.ca.
  4. If you are using a caterer, they must provide proof of insurance ($2 million liability) and list the City of Vernon as an additional insured.
  5. All floors, equipment, counters, and dishes must be cleaned and put away after use.
  6. All food, personal items, and garbage must be removed at the end of your rental. Nothing can be left behind.
  7. Place settings are available for rental - 300 place settings available and cannot be separated out.

General Terms & Regulations

  1. Rental Contract - A signed rental agreement is required for the facility booking.
  2. Fees & Charges - Recreation and Parks Services, Bylaw 6034 - view here.
  3. New bookings $100 application fee - For brand new events, $100 is due at time of application. The fee is non-refundable. This fee will be used toward the total payment of the rental contract. Should the event organizer choose not to go forward with the event, the application fee is non-refundable.
  4. Payment Terms - A 20% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking (when contract is issued). Final balance is due 30 days prior to the event.
  5. Insurance Requirements: All events require insurance. Click here for specific information on insurance requirements. A copy of the certificate of insurance must be emailed to bookings@vernon.ca 7 days prior to the event. 
  6. Deposit and Cancellation Policy - A reserve date deposit of 20% of the total contract amount is required with the signing of the Facility Rental Agreement. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable if booking is cancelled. If a booking is cancelled more than 30 days in advance, a full refund minus the reserve date deposit will be processed. If a facility rental is cancelled less than 30 days but more than 14 days before the start date, a 50% refund will be processed. If a facility rental is cancelled less than 14 days before the start date, no refund will be given.
