Snow maintenance crews and equipment will be on the roads and the City of Vernon is requesting your cooperation. Vehicles that are parked on the road during and immediately after a snow fall:
- Make it difficult for crews to clear and sand the road;
- Increase the cost to provide snow clearing services since plow trucks often need to return to the area once vehicles are moved;
- Results in reduced road widths creating safety issues for drivers; and
- Can result in a loss of on street parking areas.
Residents are reminded to park vehicles off of the road during and immediately following a snowfall until snow plows have plowed and sanded the roads in your area.
