Road updates: 27 Street & spray patching

Road Update

27 Street repairs and repaving

Crews will be continuing repairs on 27 Street between 43 and 58 Avenue starting September 6. These base repairs are necessary before repaving to increase the lifespan of the road. Repairs are expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.

Spray Patching Program

The City of Vernon spray patching program is scheduled to start September 6. Spray patching is used in troublesome spots where normal patching is not cost effective. The program will run two weeks and contractors will be in high priority areas. The downtown lanes (alleys) have been identified as a priority and we ask business owners to accommodate crews during repairs.

Although every reasonable effort will be made to minimize the disruption to traffic, motorists should be prepared for minor delays. Traffic may be reduced to single lane in both directions.

The City of Vernon would also like to remind residents to continue to do business locally. Please look for signage directing you to temporary routes to access Vernon businesses during construction.
