A new way to register for recreation programs is coming to Vernon.
Starting December 3, 2017, people will be able to register for recreation activities online and in person. Online registration will be available 24 hours a day from smart phones, tablets and computers. New features include browsing available programs and receiving email updates.
“In 2015, we were advised that our recreation software was about to become obsolete, and would no longer be supported by the vendor,” said Shayne Wright, Recreation Coordinator. “At the same time, we have been hearing from customers that they wanted a better way to register for programs and services online. In response, we started exploring the potential of purchasing online registration software. Our goals were to improve our customer service, increase the number of people we serve, create operational efficiencies, and better market and promote our services.” The City has partnered with 21 other local governments and formed the Delta Consortium. The consortium researched online software, issued a request for proposal, conducted an extensive proposal review, and short-list potential vendors. PerfectMind Technologies Inc., a Canadian company based in North Vancouver, has been awarded the contract to provide the new software. PerfectMind Technologies Inc. serves more than 5,000 clients.
