Starting August 25, 2025, the downtown 31st Avenue parking lot will be partially closed to make way for construction of the Greater Vernon Cultural Centre, a project led by the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO).
While part of the lot will remain open for hourly and daily parking, the City of Vernon encourages all drivers to consider nearby parking options, including:
- Parkade (31st Ave. and 33rd St. – by the Vernon Public Art Gallery)
- 29 St. Lot (30th Ave. and 29th St. – at the Library)
- Downtown street parking (2- and 4-hour parking meters)
- Other private parking lots
A full parking map is available at vernon.ca/parking.
The City of Vernon and the RDNO are working together to ensure commuters, businesses and visitors are well-informed and supported throughout the construction period. Signage, online updates and other communications will be used to share alternative parking options for both hourly and monthly users. The City will continue to monitor parking availability during construction and share updates as needed.
