The City would like to advise motorists that a portion of 39th Avenue will be closed for two weeks as work continues on the reconstruction of 31st Street. The closure will begin tomorrow evening (July 22) between the new 30th Street roundabout and Highway 97.
In addition, the closure will include the left turn on Highway 97 Southbound to 39th Avenue Eastbound. Detours will be available on 30th Street and 35th Avenue.
Access to local businesses in the area will be maintained throughout construction and residents are encouraged to continue supporting local businesses.
The City reminds road users to obey all traffic control signs and to slow down in work zones. Thank you for your patience as this project is completed.
The 31st Street Reconstruction Project includes the replacement of aging infrastructure such as water main, storm sewer and sanitary sewer utility lines, and road and sidewalk upgrades.
