Vernon Recreation Centre is reminding shinny players and parents that pre-registration is required prior to the beginning of the season. Pre-registration ensures that all participants have a parent’s or guardian’s consent.
Parents can register their youth and sign a waiver available at the Vernon Recreation Centre or online. Registration forms and waivers provide information necessary to issue a coloured ID card required to participate, and to ensure that players on the ice are grouped by age. This will also aid staff in organizing schedules and planning future programs.
All ID cards will be printed up and available for pick up at the front desk on the first day the rink is open. The ID card should be kept with the participant or in the hockey bag, as it will need to be produced in order to play. Lost or stolen cards can be replaced for $5; a parent is not required to request a replacement card.
