The City of Vernon is pleased to announce that the first intake period for the new Community Event Partnership Grant will open April 1–30, 2026. Community groups, event organizers, and individuals planning to host events in Vernon are encouraged to apply.
The Community Event Partnership Grant, approved by Council in October 2025, is designed to support local events that bring people together and celebrate the vibrancy of our community. The program helps offset fees and associated costs for events held in City owned parks and recreation facilities.
“Events play a meaningful role in creating connection, celebrating our culture, and bringing our community to life,” says mayor Victor Cumming. “We’re excited to open this first intake and support organizers in delivering memorable experiences for residents and visitors.”

This grant supports events delivered by non-commercial groups, particularly those that focus on:
- Arts and culture
- Recreation and sport
- Social or community building
- Fundraising for non profit organizations
Priority will be given to events that are accessible to the public at no cost. Successful applicants will have funding applied directly to their Facility Use Agreement to reduce event-related fees.
