The City of Vernon is excited to announce the release of its Fall Recreation Guide, featuring hundreds of programs, activities and opportunities for all ages, interests and abilities.
Registration for fall programs opens to all communities on Friday, August 21, and is currently available to Vernon residents.
To help make registration as smooth as possible, community members are encouraged to visit the Vernon Recreation Centre in advance to set up an account or to ensure their existing account is up to date.

Programs for every age and interest
Whether you're looking to stay active, spend time with family, learn a new skill or try something new, there's something for everyone this fall.
Community members can:
- Unwind with a yoga class
- Join a sports league
- Learn to skate
- Improve swimming skills
- Try a new fitness program such as Zumba, martial arts or strength training
Children and youth can also take part in a wide range of recreational and skill-building programs, including soccer, volleyball, floor hockey, basketball and multi-sport activities. Leadership and development opportunities are also available through programs such as Leaders in Training, lifeguard and lifesaving courses, as well as Babysitting and HomeSafe — preparing children to stay at home alone.
Preschool spaces available for ages 3 to 5
Families with preschool-aged children can also explore the City's Tiny Tots Licensed Child Care program, with spaces currently available in the Tuesday/Thursday program beginning this September. The play-based program supports early learning and development in a nurturing, engaging environment.
More information about Tiny Tots is available at vernon.ca/tinytots.
Looking ahead
Programs featured in the Fall Recreation Guide will primarily take place at the Vernon Recreation Centre, as well as select community locations throughout the city.
Residents can also look forward to learning more about programs and services offered at the Active Living Centre when the Winter Recreation Guide is released in November.
