Emergency water main repair on 29th Street at 43rd Avenue

The City of Vernon would like to advise the public that an emergency water main repair is required at the intersection of 29th Street and 43rd Avenue. While the work is underway, a partial road closure will be required and water service may be interrupted for nearby properties.

Starting at approximately 6:00 p.m. today, the utility repair work will begin and it is expected to be complete by tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. Repaving of the road will be scheduled based upon contractor availability.

During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions on 43rd Avenue. Access to 29th Street will be for local traffic only, via 41st Avenue (see map below).

If water service is interrupted, residents are reminded that there may be turbidity in the water when service resumes. If this occurs, please run your cold water for up to 5 minutes to clear your lines.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience this disruption may cause and appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding while the work is being completed.
