The City of Vernon is inviting community organizations to submit gymnasium and indoor track allocation requests for the January to June 2027 season.
With the upcoming opening of the Active Living Centre, expanded indoor recreation capacity will create new opportunities for organizations to access municipal recreation spaces. Additional rental availability will be offered at the Dogwood and Priest Valley gymnasiums, along with limited access to the gymnasiums and indoor track at the Active Living Centre.
To support fair, consistent, and transparent access to these spaces, the City will use an allocation process similar to the system that has successfully guided arena bookings for many years. While a comprehensive facility allocation policy for all municipal recreation facilities is currently being developed, a draft policy will be used for this intake period.
Community organizations that regularly use gymnasium space, defined as requiring at least one hour per week during their regular season, are encouraged to submit a request for consideration.
Submit your request by November 1
Completed Gymnasium and Indoor Track Allocation Forms must be submitted by November 1, 2026, and emailed to bookings@vernon.ca.
Please note that submitting a request does not guarantee a booking. Requests will be reviewed through the allocation process, and organizations will be notified once schedules have been finalized.
The City encourages all eligible organizations to participate in the process to help maximize access to available gymnasium and indoor track space and support recreation opportunities throughout the community.
