The City has purchased a new ozone generator to replace an aging unit for the Vernon Aquatic Centre.
The Aquatic Centre was closed on Friday, March 30, following procedures to lower chloramine levels in the pool that may cause eye and skin irritation. City staff has consulted with Interior Health and verified that chlorine levels at the Aquatic Centre are within accepted health standards. The Ozone Generator assists in the management of chloramine levels and will improve the secondary disinfection system.
