The City of Vernon is assessing the current condition of the Vernon Cemetery prior the May 24 City Council meeting. Staff will bring forward recommendations and cost estimates for improvements and upgrades to address weed control and repair damaged turf areas.
Turf areas in the cemetery were damaged following a hot dry summer in 2015 and a reduction in irrigation water. Contractors and City staff have been performing regular maintenance at the cemetery and the irrigation system is currently operating after undergoing several repairs identified during the spring irrigation start-up.
