2021 monthly parking passes available for purchase December 4

News

A new date has been set for the start of City of Vernon monthly parking pass sales for 2021.

Normally, monthly passes for City surface parking lots and the parkade for the upcoming year are available for purchase the first business day of December. However, due to physical distancing requirements, the start of sales for 2021 monthly passes will begin Friday, December 4, at 8:30 a.m.

Parking pass sales are on a first come, first served basis, and will be available for purchase in person at the cashier counter of City Hall.

“As we have navigated the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of new and updated measures have been put in place to help facilitate physical distancing within each of our City buildings,” said Christy Poirier, Manager, Communications and Grants. “Considering the parking pass sales start in December and the weather can be unpredictable, we wanted to make sure we could properly accommodate more people inside City Hall early that morning. To do this, we will need to use Council Chambers for queuing.”

On December 1, City Council will be conducting budget deliberations in Council Chambers, so the start of 2021 parking pass sales has been rescheduled to begin December 4.

Payments can be made by cheque, Interac or cash. The City encourages customers to avoid using cash, if possible, to help reduce touch points.

In accordance with the current Provincial Health Order, masks are required inside all City of Vernon facilities. If you visit City Hall, please remember to wash or sanitize your hands upon entering the lobby and maintain appropriate physical distancing of at least 2 metres from all others.
