A major construction project on 35th Street is scheduled to begin next week, between 34th Avenue and Centennial Drive.
As early as Monday, June 24, City of Vernon and Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) will begin construction of underground utilities. The work is anticipated to continue for several months.
The work includes new water, storm, and sanitary sewer utility lines and related road surfacing.
A portion of 35th Street, 34th Avenue and 35th Avenue will be accessible to local traffic only, during construction (please see map below). Detour routes will be available along 33rd Avenue, 34th Street and Centennial Drive.
For the safety of workers and public, please slow down, follow detour routes, and obey traffic control personnel and signage in the area.
Project partners appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding for any inconvenience this road closure may cause while the project is being completed.
