Zoning & Land Use

Vernon’s Zoning Bylaw regulates the use of lands and premises. Each property in Vernon has a specific zoning district that outlines the uses permitted on the property, as well as minimum lot size, building setbacks, maximum heights and other regulations. Prior to applying for any permits with the City, it is important to review the zoning district for your property to ensure that your proposal is consistent with all of its regulations.

Many properties in close proximity to the Vernon Regional Airport are also affected by the Regional Airport Zoning Regulations Bylaw, particularly with regard to maximum building and landscaping heights.
