The City of Vernon provides centralized procurement services for the acquisition of goods and services using a competitive process that ensures all suppliers are given fair and equal opportunity to do business with the City and encourages various hired equipment and service providers to complete pre-qualification registration.
The Procurement Services department utilizes a secure digital platform called Bonfire to streamline the purchasing and procurement process of these opportunities and posts notice of current bid opportunities on our website under All Open Bid Opportunities and also utilize BC Bid and CivicInfoBC sites to post opportunity notices for procurements over $75k. The City also participates in cooperative purchasing with other municipalities and uses Canoe Sourcewell buying groups and Corporate Supply Arrangements (CSA) established by the Province of B.C. You can subscribe for email notifications of Open Bid Opportunities at www.vernon.ca/subscribe.
Should a potential bidder download a bid opportunity notice or bid documents from any platform, it is the bidder's responsibility to check for scheduled or non-scheduled addendums which will be posted on the procurement portal to ensure they have reviewed all information prior to submitting a bid.
