The collection of residential garbage collection is performed under contract with Aldon Waste Systems. Residents who experience service problems may call Aldon Waste Systems office to resolve the issue. The office phone numbers are listed below.

Dumpsters in the Downtown Vernon Business Improvement Area (VBIA)
As of June 1, 2009 Dumpsters will no longer be allowed in public back alleys and boulevards within the Vernon Business Improvement Area (VBIA). Portable garbage containers will be allowed in public back alleys and boulevards in the VBIA for
pick up only during the hours of 10 am and 2 pm. This does not apply to dumpsters located on private property.
Business Owners within the VBIA are encouraged to contact their waste hauler to ensure alternate servicing arrangements have been made to remove dumpsters from public lands prior to June 1, 2009.

1. Collection Time
Please put out refuse by 7:00 a.m. on your colored day.
2. Quantity Limit
Each customer is entitled to put out a maximum of 2 cans or bags of refuse, limit 99 litre ( 3.5 cu. ft. ) capacity, 23 kilogram ( 50 lbs. ) weight, 1 meter ( 3.3 ft. ) length in any direction.
3. Extra Quantity
The driver will pick up more than 2 quota if there is a sticker
attached to each additional bag or container. Stickers cost $1.50
each and can be purchased at the City Hall or the Recreation Complex.
