Grow operations continue to be an issue in our community and we are concerned about the use of marijauna and other drugs among our young people.
Many police jurisdictions have tried to set up crime-specific tip lines. Vancouver Police Department for example had at one time 24 separate tip lines for everything from grow ops to speeders.
In Vernon we rely on the Crimestopper program which has dedicated operators to monitor incoming tips to ensure that the information on crime gets to the right person at the right police agency.
