BC Hydro Study Grant
BC Hydro will provide a grant to cover the cost of a consultant's study for the Vernon Adaptive Lighting Proposal. The study will determine the potential for reducing the City's electrical usage for street lighting. Our existing database information will be reviewed and a field inspection will be conducted to determine if an opportunity exists to utilize adaptive lighting.

This project is the first of a ten-year program to develop an Integrated Transportation Demand Management Network for the City. It will include walking, cycling and transit initiatives that reduce the dependence on the single occupancy vehicle. This year's project consists of two multi-use corridors at Okanagan College and a proposed Park 'n' Ride site, as well as seven sections of sidewalks near schools and senior centres in the downtown area.
