Core Service Review

Intro Statement

The City of Vernon has hired KPMG to review the City’s operations and service delivery to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for potential improvements, as per the project plan and contract. This includes, for example, a review of the City’s organizational structure, the size of its workforce and its costs and services. It also includes a review of the capital budget process to recommend a sustainable, long-term strategy to successful infrastructure replacement.

Periodic Core Service Reviews are a necessary and positive means to check, confirm and review the range of services to be delivered by the City and recommendations to prioritize those services.

Core Service Reviews are one method to ensure what is delivered is of the highest value to the community, shed lower values services, apply best modern practices to cost effective delivery, and direct valuable, limited resources to the delivery of community valued programs and services.
