In twenty-five years, Rick Hansen has become a catalyst for change in society’s attitude and building an accessible world. While Rick continues to pursue his dream, he looks to the future to find ways to make a difference in the world.
The City of Vernon has been selected as one of the communities in Canada to hold an “End of Day Celebration.”
To welcome the team and to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Rick Hansen’s dream, we are planning a family-oriented event in Polson Park from
2:00 pm to 6:30 p.m. While we wait for the relay team to arrive in Polson Park at 5:00 p.m., we will have some entertainment provided by local artists.
When the relay team arrives at 5:00 p.m. there will be speeches and some inspirational talks given by some of the Medal Bearers
(Josh Dueck and Sonja Gaudet). We plan to wind everything up by 6:30 p.m.
